Service Description

Reiki is a healing touch modality that originated in Japan in the early 20th century, based on the understanding of an unseen life-force energy that flows through all living beings. In Japanese, Rei means universal and Ki means life energy. Today's quantum physics also recognizes energy fields that connect all life and matter. This allows Reiki to be offered successfully in person or at a distance.  Reiki induces a relaxed state that restores balance and ease at the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual level. This facilitates ones's innate healing capacity, allowing positive transformation to begin.  Hands-on Reiki treatment is delivered through light touch. Reiki may also be offered at a short distance from the body, or via remote sessions. There are no side effects and Reiki can be practiced safely in conjunction with prescription medications, herbal remedies, acupuncture, and all other medical and therapeutic techniques. Adults and children of all ages can benefit from Reiki treatments. REIKI FOR ANIMALS Animals are especially sensitive and receptive to Reiki energy. Treatments typically take place remotely, which many animals seem to prefer. We may also meet in your home, where I will follow your animal's lead to deliver Reiki either through a light touch or from a few feet away. This may vary from session to session and as your animal gets to know me.  Animal Reiki is appropriate for both physical and emotional/behavioral concerns (such as moving or travel, new animals in the home, stressful situations in the family, or past abuse). Many animals benefit from having Reiki to help them relax before or after dental work or surgery, or while undergoing medical treatment for acute or chronic conditions. Reiki can also ease a pet's transition at the end of life, while simultaneously supporting the entire family.  NOTE:  Reiki is not a substitute for needed medical or veterinary care.
